Description:
I love certain whitework band samplers from the 17th
century which reside in the Victoria and Albert Museum. While the
cutwork bands are most often shown, some of the other bands are full
of interesting texture created with pulled stitches and detached
buttonhole bars. These pieces explore texture in tribute to these old
samplers.
Materials Recommended:
32 ct. Belfast Linen Confederate Grey, Au Ver
a Soie 100/3 and Au Ver a Soie Soie Perlee, and Silken Ribbons 4mm and
7 mm.
